Just as gaming has through history and as we do from birth. Choosing to or not to have conversations, connections, and collisions the game offers a bit of self examination paired with familar pixels. A strange draw that gives back the more you give. Would recommend.. Low-fi aesthetics and atmosphere hint at something dark going on behind the curtain, but later it's revealed to be just philosophical ramblings. Can't help but feel it was supposed to be a horror game, in a way that a children's cartoon has jokes for adults, the colourful and cheery atmosphere could hide something very disturbing. Instead it's a game filled with philosophy 101 texts recited by rather empty characters. The actual mechanics are there just to serve their purpose, not fun, not horrible. Same can be said for music. There is some redemption in the form of actually really good poems by one of the characters and positive messaging on depression and anxiety.. If the game omitted the pretentious and cringe worthy commentary on the human consciousness and God, this would be a neat vignette style shooter, because everything else the game does is at the very least competent. The shooting mechanics feel really tight, especially the shotgun which feels ripped out of Brutal DOOM. Each level explored a part of human morality and/or human fragility, which I thought were "cute" in the sense they weren't very deep but got the point effectively. I think if the game focused just on that part of the game, it would've been cool, but no. Every 2 minutes some♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥poetry attempt is shoved down your throat which piece by piece builds upon an uninteresting dialogue about death and for some ♥♥♥♥ing reason ego. The whole thing is a confusing mess because the argument it puts forth are done not only in a boring fashion through simple dialogue and 1 slide text crawls, but are disjointed and lack focus.I'm willing to admit at all times a piece of work which obviously goes for more abstract storytelling is going to throw some punches that go way over my head, but everything here felt like missed blows and I don't think that was my fault at all.. This is a cool retro style FPS that will take you right back to the good old days of gaming. Good quality and engaging it has difficulty settings so those complaining it lacks challenge just havnt figured that out yet.. I don't normally write reviews but here goes. This is a very pleasant short game where the first playthrough can take about three hours. There is a lot a dialogue and I find the story to be kind of thought provoking (not to be pretentious but it is well written and goes over interesting concepts) and overall would recommend this to anyone really. You don't have to focus on the story or you could only really focus on the story. The game also has a ton a branching paths to many endings. Overall a nice game in a small package at a fair price.. Where do I start? this is a cool little game and it is well made. There's some cool gunplay, a lot of story, moral choices and some puzzles here and there. It's quite short, first playthrough took me about 2 hours. That was only because of all the dialogue and a couple of parts that try to drag the game out longer. The airship and the snowy parts seemed to just make the game longer. There's a lot of weird crazy dialogue in the game too, it feels like it's trying to teach me life lessons or something, not too big of a fan of that. Aside from that though its pretty fun, there's a lot of characters to interact with and a few different ways you can take the story. The puzzles are a bit weak, pretty simple to figure out most of them, would appreciate some harder ones. There aren't really any bosses but there are a few different enemies, although the AI is a bit weak, just programmed to move towards and attack the player, infact most of the enemies don't even make any sounds which is a bit odd. The map design is decent though, I like the pixel graphics and the textures go well with the nice shadows and lighting. It's also pretty easy, even on hard mode I was able to get it done without too many problems. I even managed to get all of the achievements, it did take 7 or 8 playthroughs but only 8hrs so not too bad. Overall its a solid little game but has some issues, I'd say get it on sale. 7/10. A philosophical-psychological FPS that just hit my heart. For everything else read the review of @knypplerskan - exactly my thoughts and feelings.https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198272239948/recommended/655730/ TRADING CARDS ARE HERE!: Steam Trading Cards have arrived! (Press P in pause menu) (Only works up til a point where going back to the lobby isn't possible anymore )Did a complete overhaul of save-state system, a lot of bugs came from that, so I think I've ironed them out, but if you find any, post in the Bug Discussion..
